The main difference between a premium class and general economy class is the standard of seat. In premium class, passengers are offered more soft and comfortable seats at 36-38” pitch. In some airlines the premium class passengers are offered lounge service, better quality meals, drinks and more luggage allowance. Most of the airlines have a separate cabin for premium class passengers. Generally premium class cabins consist lesser number of seats to allow more leg space to passengers. Some airlines even provide purple leather seats in premium class cabins. Usually premium class tickets are bought by people who are traveling alone and want to have a quiet and enjoyable journey.

Premium class cabins are mostly preferred by couple going for honeymoon and families who want to have a pleasant journey. British Airways offers two types of premium class in some of its flights. One is the World Traveller, where passengers are offered 31” seat pitch and World Traveller Plus. The later one is much better as 31” seat pitch is provided inside the cabin. Some long distant flights of British Airways consist premium class as the demand for tickets is not so high because of high price.
