Air France, the subsidiary of Air France-KLM Group has its headquarter located at the Charles de Gaulle International Airport. Its primary bases are the Orly Airport and the Charles de Gaulle International Airport (both located in Paris) and the secondary base is known as the Saint-Exupery International Airport (located in Lyon). Prior coming in direct collaboration with the KLM, Air France was considered as the national airline of France. It takes pride in operating international and domestic flights and cargo services to 185 different destinations, covering almost 83 countries.

After merging Compagnie Generale Aeropostale, Air Orient, CIDNA, Societe Generale de Transport Aerien and Air Union, the emergence of Air France was experienced in the year 1933.

On 1st January 1946 the nationalization of Air France took place. Until 2003 this French airline went through ample of expansion and improvements. In late 2003, on 30th September Air France merged with the Royal Dutch Airlines (Netherlands based airline) and earned the name of Air France-KLM. Today, in terms of the revenue it generates Air France-KLM is considered as the largest airline company.

In collaboration with the Dutch associate, Transavia, Air France-KLM will launch a new subsidiary airline in the near future. The 4 Boeing 737-800 aircrafts would have there base at the Paris’s Orly Airport and serve Mediterranean and North African locations.
