Presently the Chairman, President and CEO of American Airlines is Gerard Arpey. It serves almost every nook and corner of United States, Latin America, Western Europe, India, Japan, Canada, Caribbean and Japan.

It’s astonishing to know that it comprises of 670 aircrafts and serves 157 cities (domestic as well as international). American Airlines has been blessed w ith five hubs: San Juan, Saint Louis, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Chicago and Miami International Airport. Almost 84% of American Airlines’ aircrafts depart and arrive from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

After conglomerating 82 small airlines, the American Airlines was founded and was named American Airways. On January 25th 1930 it was declared as a single company and thereafter its operation started. Later in 1934, the company was renamed as ‘American Air Lines’ by E. L. Cord. The last two decades witnessed loads of expansion and development in American Airlines.

Since 1939 the American Airlines launched an association comprising eminent personalities and was named Admirals Club. Some of the locations where Admirals Club is located are: Kansas City, Paris CDG, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, San Jose, Santo Domingo, Orange Country, London Heathrow, Panama City and so forth.
The sister concern of American Airlines is named as the American Eagle Airlines and has its base at Forth Worth. Presently the American Airlines is an active member of the Oneworld airline alliance.
